The problem was water. Deck boards above, finished patio below, fireplace in the space, and water dripping through every time it rained. Previous repairs hadn’t held. re:done came in to fix it correctly.
The solution: a water management ceiling assembly built into the deck underside. It captures water passing through the deck surface above and redirects it to an actual gutter. The ceiling conceals the drainage system. The patio below stays dry. Upholstered furniture, a TV, anything you’d want in an outdoor living space can now live there permanently.
There were products on the market that would have partially addressed the problem, but re:done specified the one that would actually solve the issue. Working in a finished space that someone else had built poorly, required careful diagnosis and a solution that didn’t require tearing everything out. The space went from genuinely unusable to functional without gutting it and replacing everything.
