Tallgrass Taphouse Bathroom Renovation

Project description

The bathrooms at Tallgrass Taphouse had a water problem. Long vanity countertops were pooling water and manual faucets made it worse. Staff were fighting a maintenance battle they couldn’t win with the existing setup. The ask was to create a practical solution and keep the disruption minimal.

re:done pulled the countertops and replaced them with individual wall-mounted sinks. No countertop surface meant no pooling and easier to clean. The existing tile was partially discontinued, but re:done found a close match and chose a color that works with it rather than against it. Automatic faucets went in to address both the water management issue and basic sanitation.

Getting power to those faucets in a finished tile bathroom without opening walls was the real challenge. The electrician came up with a surface-mounted conduit solution; re:done fabricated a custom sleeve that covers it, waterproofs it, and disappears into the wall finish. Paper towel dispensers moved from across the room to next to the sinks. Small change, obvious in hindsight. The bathrooms are easier to maintain and more functional for guests. Sometimes the right project is a targeted one.

The client wanted to keep the envelope and carry…

Porch and Patio Addition

The deck existed. It worked fine. But it was fully exposed, meaning no shade, no weather protection, no way to use it during a Kansas summer afternoon or after any amount of rain. The client wanted a covered screened enclosure. She also had cats, so the screening had to actually contain them. The structural decision…

Garage and Workshop Build

The ask: a 2-car garage with a dedicated workshop, on a lot where a sprawling outbuilding wasn't an option. The answer was to stack it. Two-car garage at grade, full walkout basement workshop underneath the concrete slab. Same footprint, twice the program. Making that work required raising the grade to meet the garage floor, so…
