Restaurant Construction and Renovation
About the service
Restaurants are among the most demanding construction environments we work in, and can be amongst the most rewarding. A great restaurant space does invisible work: it sets the mood before a guest orders, it keeps staff moving efficiently during a rush, and it holds up under the punishment of daily commercial use. At re:done, we’ve built and renovated restaurant spaces that perform on all three dimensions.
What We Build
We work on full restaurant buildouts, dining room renovations, bar construction, back-of-house improvements, and exterior projects. We understand the operational realities of food service, including health code requirements, ventilation and hood system coordination, commercial kitchen clearances, durable finish materials, and the reality that any downtime is expensive. We plan and sequence work to minimize disruption wherever possible.
Design That Serves the Concept
A restaurant’s physical space is an extension of its brand and concept. We work closely with operators to understand what the space needs to communicate and how it needs to function for their specific service model. Whether that means a warm, intimate dining room with careful acoustic treatment or a high-energy, open-kitchen concept with dramatic lighting, we bring design thinking to the build.
Materials That Last in Commercial Environments
Restaurant finishes take punishment. Floors see constant foot traffic and spills. Bar tops endure years of daily use. Walls absorb grease and moisture in ways residential spaces never do. We specify and install materials appropriate for commercial hospitality environments — not residential finishes that will fail within a year of opening. Durability isn’t just a practical concern; it protects your investment.
Local Hospitality Projects
We’ve worked on local hospitality projects in the Manhattan area, bringing the same care we bring to residential work into the commercial space. We understand that a restaurant buildout is a high-stakes project with real financial implications, and we approach it with the discipline and follow-through it requires.

Signage FabricationA sign is often the first physical impression a business makes. At re:done, we design and fabricate custom signs that are built to last, reflect the character of the business they represent, and work at the scale and context they're installed in. Whether you need an exterior blade sign, a dimensional interior logo wall, or a handcrafted wayfinding system, we approach signage as a craft project, not a commodity.
Gates and DoorsA gate or door is both a functional element and a first impression. It's the boundary between outside and in, between public and private. At re:done, we design and fabricate custom gates and doors that are built to the specific dimensions, materials, and character of the project they serve. Whether it's a wood and metal entry gate for a commercial property, a carved wood front door for a historic home, or a custom interior door for a renovation, we bring the same craft and intention to doors that we bring to everything else we build.
Seating and TablesOff-the-shelf furniture rarely fits a custom space perfectly. At re:done, we design and build custom seating and tables for a variety of applications. We can create custom pieces that fit the specific dimensions, materials, and character of your project. Whether it's a banquette for a restaurant dining room, a farmhouse table for a renovated kitchen, or custom built-in seating for a commercial lounge, we build furniture that belongs in the space it was made for.
